A short proposal for Ellie and the senior team. What Blink would look like at You Matter, what it would cost, and how it would launch.
You Matter has doubled to over 400 people in two years. Most of them work in the houses rather than at head office, across rehab, domestic abuse, homelessness, and complex needs services in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
The rebrand and the new head office landed well. The frontline hasn't come along in the same way. Each house runs its own WhatsApp groups and its own way of doing things, and Teams was tried and never stuck.
The cost shows up in retention. People join, never quite feel part of You Matter, and leave.
Blink is an app on the phone people already carry. It puts the news, the people, and the systems they need in one place, with You Matter's name on it.
Shown with demo content in You Matter's branding. Yours would carry your own houses, services, and people.
Logo, colours, and layout are yours to set, and they carry across mobile and desktop. Staff open Blink and know straight away they're in You Matter.
Nobody needs a company email or laptop to join. People get in by text, by email, or by scanning a QR code from their manager.
Posts target by service, house, and role. A support worker at Nightingale House sees You Matter news, updates for their service, and changes at their house, and nothing meant for someone else.
Critical posts ask people to confirm they've read them, so you know exactly who has seen a policy change.
PeopleHR, ePayWindow, and your e-learning platform sit as tiles in the Hub and open inside Blink without another password. Policies, SharePoint documents, and forms for time off or incident reports sit alongside them.
It's the reason people open the app on day one, and the reason they keep coming back.
Chats work the way WhatsApp does, with one-to-one and group messages, photos, files, and calls. Photos aren't compressed and there's no storage limit.
Quiet Hours silence notifications when someone's off shift, and nobody has to share a personal number. The directory finds anyone by name, role, service, or house.
A thank-you from a manager or a shout-out from head office lands on the Feed where the whole service sees it. It's the small, visible stuff that makes people feel part of something bigger.
Journeys send content to new starters on a schedule set from their start date, from a welcome video before their first shift to a thank-you at their first anniversary. Here's how one might run at You Matter.
Stagecoach built onboarding into Blink because too many new drivers left in their first 90 days. It led to a 26% reduction in turnover.
Blink streams the SharePoint files and folders you choose to the people who need them. SharePoint stays the source of truth, so when a document changes, the frontline sees the current version.
PeopleHR, ePayWindow, and the e-learning platform open inside Blink, already signed in. Your IT provider sets this up once, for everyone.
Blink syncs your people from Entra every day. New starters land in the right house and service, and leavers drop off, without anyone touching a spreadsheet.
A note on Microsoft licences. Frontline staff can read SharePoint content through Blink without a Microsoft licence. If some of the 400 only ever need to read documents, that's a saving worth checking against what you pay for licences today.
The charity supporting anyone in distress, any time of day or night, across the UK and Ireland. Different branches had relied on different tools. Now every branch, hub, volunteer, and staff member shares one channel for news, interest groups, and chat.
Private branch groups sync their membership automatically, and personal phone numbers stay private while people still chat and call. More than 260 Blink Champions helped shape the rollout, including accessibility changes led by blind and visually impaired volunteers.
A non-profit supporting people with developmental disabilities and autism. Their 2,000 staff work across programmes, shifts, and sites, and wanted chat to replace informal WhatsApp groups. 86% use Blink every month.
A UK care provider that used Blink to give carers a voice after the pandemic. Survey responses rose by 300%.
A charity with a lean comms team and staff spread across stores and services. Their old email system reached about 300 people. Blink reached more than 1,000 almost instantly.
Other charities using Blink include these, along with dozens more.
You Matter has been accepted for Blink for Good, so Core is already free. The recommendation is Pro, with Guided Implementation to get it launched properly.
There's no mandatory setup fee and no multi-year contract. Pro scales at £15 per person, and licences move between people as staff change. A lighter £500 launch package also exists, but with house managers across every service to train, Guided is the right size for You Matter.
